SAN FRANCISCO FINAL AUDITION DEADLINE: 
JANUARY 21ST (Application materials must arrive in SF by this date)
 
DVD's and MP3 AUDITIONS must arrive in San Francisco by JANUARY 21st.  Your voice teacher must send a recommendation letter and confirm that it is indeed you who is singing on the DVD or MP3.  You must send the copy  and file to Sylvia Anderson,  C/O BASOTI 123 Nantucket Cove, San Rafael, attention Sylvia Anderson. 
 
 
HOW TO APPLY:
 
1.  Fill out and send the Online APPLICATION FORM on this page.  In the "Comments' box write the answers to the questions below:
 
1) voice category  
2) what school you are attending, what year you are in school, or if you are not attending school
3) What date you wish to audition and in what city.
4) if applying by DVD please write that in the comments box.
 
 
2.  Send your audition materials  before the deadline for your city, so that it arrives in San Francisco by the deadline to:

For DVD/MP3 auditions the deadline is January 21st, 2012, see above.  
 
 
Make sure your audition package includes:
 
* 8 1/2"x 11" publicity photo
* a  resume of yourself including roles or partial roles sung, education, full address, email addresses and telephone numbers, weight and  height, dress or suit size, and special skills 
 
* A $50 check for your application fee, drawn on a US Bank.
 
* Two letters of recommendation  from persons familiar with your work, if you are not presently attending school.
 
* If  you audition by DVD, record two arias, one in Italian and one in English.  The DVD should be included in your audition envelope 
 
*  If you audition by MP3, record two arias, one in Italian and one in  English, have your teacher verify that it is you who is singing on the file and email you MP3 file to [email protected],  AFTER you send us the rest of your audition materials.
 
* If you are applying for a work-study position you must make that request at the time you submit your audition request.  After you have written all of the required information in the "Comments" box, tell us that you intend to apply for a work-study fellowship.  The Artistic Director will then send you the Application Package for Scholarship Assistance, which you will fill out and return.

MORE IMPORTANT INFORMATION !
 
TUITION:  $3,200
 
  • Deadlines     All deadlines are final.
  • First deposit of $2,200 is due on March 1st, 2013
  • Second deposit of  $1000.00 is due on April 1st, 2013
  • Tuition:  Requests for refunds must be received before midnight on April 1st, 2013 Pacific Time.  Up to 80% of the paid tuition deposits may be refundable.  No refunds will be granted after the deadline.
  • Late Payments:  No late payments or payment plans can be accepted.
  • Returned Payments: There will be a $50 charge for all returned checks or dishonored payments.
  • BASOTI assumes no financial responsibility for losses arising due to missed deadlines or the inability of students to participate in any of the regularly scheduled programs. 
  • Musical Preparation:  All participants of BASOTI agree to memorize all their music before June 17th so that staging rehearsals can begin immediately.
  • Acceptance:  By submitting an application to BASOTI, students agree to abide by all policies of the organization.  All decisions of the Artistic Director are final.  All participants will be asked to accept in writing the BASOTI policies.
  • BASOTI does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or presentation, ethnic background or national origin.
  • Donations:  BASOTI is a 501(c)3 organization under the rules of the State of California, and donations are tax deductible.  Tuition is not tax-deductible but may be deducted as continuing education when filing your tax return.
